In the last election, long time Hennepin County sheriff, Rich Stanek, was replaced by Democrat-endorsed, Dave "Hutch" Hutchinson. Sheriff "Hutch" brings with him a whole new set of priorities. If justice is supposed to be blind, then we certainly aren't going to be headed in that direction. He is already talking about special treatment of transgender people in jails, not reporting illegal immigrants to ICE, making procedural changes to firearms ranges, and driver's licenses for illegal aliens. We cover a number of the laws he is willing (or not willing) to enforce. Hutch has also advocated for increasing the diversity of sheriff's deputies to reflect the ethnic makeup of the county they serve.

In the Local Lowdown, we discuss District 281's move to put Armstrong High School principal, David Dahl, on special assignment next year to find someone that better fits with their Unified District Vision. Did the district actually say that it's because he's not "diverse enough"?
