Community Solutions Podcast

Aug 30, 2020

www.commsolutionsmn.com- If you're tuning into the media lately (and who is), you're hearing a whole lot of things that just are not true. We're going to attempt to set the record straight for all y'all. Support is dropping like a rock for these protests, thanks to all of the riots, but how did we get here? I mean, blacks were ardent Republicans. Abraham Lincoln freed the slaves, and the Democrats ruled the south where they had been severely mistreated. Democrat, Nathan Bedford Forrest, started the Ku Klux Klan. How and when did it switch? How did the Democrats steal them away? It's amazing what hardship does. FDR began to offer free things and the vote began to sway.

By the time Lyndon Johnson signed the Civil Rights Act into law in 1964, things had tilted in a big way and have stayed there since. We're seeing the pendulum begin to swing back the other way, but what's causing it? What is the real reason that the Republicans have struggled? What impacts has the allegiance of blacks to the Democrats had on them and on our society? They've ruled our cities, and now we watch them burn. As the tide turns away from Democrats, what does that mean for our cities and our schools? We discuss and try to bring some solutions that we believe would float everyone's boat if people would try something different.

Also, Andrew breaks one of our cardinal rules and Jason attempts to talk him off the proverbial ledge.
