Community Solutions Podcast

Sep 28, 2020

www.commsolutions.com- We welcome Nate Truesdell, Champlin City Council (Ward 3), to the show. Nate was elected to his first term four years ago, and is running for re-election. We invite him on to talk about what's going on in the city, what he accomplished in his first term, and what he still wants to accomplish in his next term. He came in with another newly-elected council member, a councilmember-turned-mayor, and two appointees. So, they had their work cutout for them, but they have thrived, with most residents saying they are happy with the direction of the city. Mississippi Point Park has been a prime spot on the Mississippi River that has been in negotiation for twenty years, and Nate has had a big hand in getting it finalized. He discusses his take on law enforcement and how Champlin handled protecting its citizens during the riots. He also explains how important it is to have the right voices on the council to advocate for important services, like the fire department. It's a balance to make sure they have what they need without writing them a blank check. He is a strong advocate for local businesses and has made an effort to make Champlin a business friendly city. We also take a look at the upcoming filling of the Supreme Court vacancy left by Ruth Bader Ginsberg and at the latest in the race to be president. Have you checked out our Spotify playlist?
