www.commsolutionsmn.com- We've said it so many times that y'all know exactly how we feel about odd year elections... we hate them. Very few people show up, so a small cabal can sway an entire election, and the rest of the electorate is stuck with whomever is selected. Golden Valley is one of those cities that employs these odd year contests. Andrew recently wrote an article on the subject, but we're going to give you a deeper look into the election. This year's race saw Mayor Shep Harris retain his seat over current City Council Member, Steve Schmidgall, but saw the DFL stalwarts Schmidgall and Joni Clausen being replaced by far left activists Maurice Harris and Kimberly Sanberg. They are looking to change zoning codes to increase density and low income housing, employ radical environmental policies, push social justice causes. Sanberg belongs to radical groups like NOW, Women Winning (abortion rights group), Stonewall DFL, Outfront and Minnesota. They are union-endorsed. They will join current Council Member Gillian Rosenquist to push Golden Valley even further to the left. So long, we hardly knew ye...

The city of Boston is talking about renaming Dudley Square to Nubian Square in a non-binding vote. Why have an election for something, when the vote doesn't result in anything? So, we're going to change the name from a former governor of Massachusetts (that owned slaves) to honor the ancient Egyptians? Hello? Remember the book of Exodus? Don't ask us... we just report the news. We don't get it either.

Also, congratulations to Dan Specht, who was on our podcast (Episode 132), because of a special election he was running in for Ward 3 in Ramsey. He won handily (60%-40%) over Josh Fuhreck.
