www.commsolutionsmn.com- Our schools are under attack. School
boards complain about not having control, and then complain when
the state gives them control. So many of Minnesota's school
districts are similar, because there is so little independence
given, thanks to the Department of Education and the teacher's
union. So no matter where you are, you will benefit from this
week's podcast. Independent School District 281 (Robbinsdale Area
Schools) just held a school board forum through the League of Women
Voters. You have three incumbents (John Vento, Helen Bassett, and
Sherry Tyrrell) going against the slate called "Change281" (ReNae
Bowman, Eric Pone, and Stacy Rider), and two other candidates
(Brian Hanf, and Greta Evans-Becker). Like all school districts,
they are battling over all-too-frequent referendums, school
properties, COVID readiness, employment, busing... you know, all
the typical things that school boards deal with, I mean, except for
student achievement, graduation rates, college readiness, etc.
There is too much focus on equity (aka Cultural Marxism or Critical
Race Theory) and not enough on how to make every student the best
they can be to go take on an ever-changing world. We also take a
little time to discuss the recent passing of the 19th anniversary
of our troops' arrival in Afghanistan. When are we going to get
out? We have troops all over the globe. We're spending so much
money. Why? When are our soldiers coming home? It's a topic worth a
little discussion. Have you checked out our Spotify playlist? At
