Community Solutions Podcast

Jun 2, 2020

www.commsolutionsmn.com- This was a podcast that we weren't very excited to record. There was no avoiding the topic this week as the fires were already raging long before we hit the microphone. In a completely unnecessary and tragic event, the barbaric actions of former Minneapolis police officer, Derek Chauvin, ended the life of George Floyd. This kind of thing has to stop. The violence has to stop. The rioting has to stop. At the time of recording, we hadn't even seen law enforcement present on the streets, let alone the National Guard. Our "leadership" has been a complete and utter failure. They have been absent. They look stumped for answers when they do come out of hiding. Instead of straight answers, we get partisan rhetoric. It's not helpful and it's part of the problem.

We're still hearing about white supremacists in the area, but not a word about Antifa, despite clear evidence of their presence. Minneapolis Mayor, Jacob Frey, decided to give the 3rd Police Precinct over to the rioters. Small business owners have lost their businesses, life savings, and life's work. Our cities are being boarded up and we're, again, being told to go inside because of the inept leadership of Governor Tim Walz and Mayor Jacob Frey. We can only pray that this ends soon, and life can finally, after long last, go back to normal. We need some real leadership in this state, and I don't know when we'll ever get it.

In the name of a little levity, we discuss one of the most entertaining gubernatorial debates in Minnesota history. We also preview a couple of upcoming shows, including the impending bonding bill, extending the executive emergency order, and local emergency orders.
